My Dad Ditched My Mom for My Best Friend – I Served Him His Own Karma

My Dad Replaced My Mom with My Best Friend – I Made Him Taste His Own Medicine

When Hannah saw her father walk into her birthday celebration with her closest friend by his side, she knew she had to hold him accountable. Little did he know, Hannah had a plan that would turn the tables at her graduation celebration.

“Happy birthday, kiddo,” her father greeted, but his words barely registered. Despite the room being filled with balloons and banners, something felt off. The unease in the air was palpable as he asked, “What’s the fuss?”

Hannah couldn’t believe what was happening—her father had shown up at her 25th birthday party with her best friend, Jessica, as his date. “What is Jess doing with you?” she asked, recovering from her initial shock.

He laughed, “What do you mean? We’re together, in love!”

“Are you serious?” Hannah replied, incredulous. “Mom is right here, and everyone is watching us.”

He shrugged dismissively. “Whatever. It’s her problem. I don’t care how she or anyone else feels. This is my life, and I want to enjoy it.”

Hannah glanced at her mother, who stood silently with tears streaming down her cheeks. As her mother turned and walked away, unable to bear the sight, Hannah could no longer hold back. “If I had known you would do something like this, I would never have invited you!” she shouted, turning to her father. “And Jess, how could you do this? You were my best friend.”

“Hannah, I’m sorry, but if you can’t accept this, that sounds like a problem with YOU,” Jessica replied coldly.

Stunned, Hannah screamed, “Go! Just leave, both of you!”

Her father sneered, “Hey, Hannah, you’re overreacting. It’s not like your mom and I are still together. I brought someone new into our lives.”

“No, Dad, I’m not exaggerating, and I don’t want to talk about this. You need to leave now. This is Mom’s house, and we’re celebrating here.”

“Fine, we’ll go,” he retorted, and walked out.

As Hannah watched her father leave, she returned to her mother and embraced her tightly. “I’m so sorry, Mom. I had no idea they would…”

“It’s alright, my love,” her mother whispered, “Thank you.”

But Hannah couldn’t shake the image of the guests’ sympathetic and disbelieving faces, all directed at her mother. She hated how they saw her mom as a helpless victim.

The following Sunday, as Hannah and her mom sipped tea in the cozy living room, the atmosphere remained tense. It had only been a week since the birthday fiasco, but Hannah could tell her mom was still processing everything. The recent divorce was still fresh, and despite everything, her mom missed her dad.

“Mom, I’m really looking forward to graduation next month,” Hannah tried to lighten the mood. “It’s a big milestone for me.”

Her mother smiled, her eyes filled with pride. “Oh, Hannah, I’m so proud of you. You’ve worked so hard for this day.” Then, with a sigh, she added, “Seeing Jessica with your father was difficult. She’ll be graduating too, right?”

Hannah squeezed her mother’s hand gently. “Yes, it was awful. But you’re stronger than this, Mom. You deserve better.”

Her mom’s eyes filled with tears. “Hannah, it’s just so hard. This isn’t what I expected from Jessica. She was like a daughter to me, and now… this.”

Hannah comforted her mother, but deep inside, she knew she had to do something to make things right. She had a plan in mind but kept it to herself for the time being.

The following Thursday, Hannah met Tom, a kind and familiar face from her childhood, at a small café near the university. Tom, a former colleague of her father, had always been friendly, and Hannah felt a sense of nostalgia as they caught up. After some small talk, she shared her plan with him, and to her relief, he agreed to help.

As graduation day approached, Hannah could feel her anticipation growing. The night needed to be perfect—not just for herself, but for her mother as well. When the big day finally arrived, Hannah was ready.

She arrived at the graduation hall, where excitement filled the air. She spotted her father and Jessica entering the auditorium, looking confident. But that confidence was about to be shattered.

Soon after, her mother walked in with Tom by her side. They looked like the perfect couple, and Hannah couldn’t help but smile. As her father and Jessica noticed them, their expressions shifted from smugness to disbelief.

“Tom? What are you doing here?” her father asked, clearly taken aback.

“Supporting a dear friend and her daughter,” Tom replied, wrapping an arm around Hannah’s mother.

Jessica looked uneasy, realizing the situation had turned. “You said he was your coworker,” she whispered to Hannah’s father, who was clearly agitated.

Hannah’s plan had worked. Throughout the evening, her mother and Tom laughed and danced, looking happier than ever. Her father, on the other hand, couldn’t hide his irritation. The realization that he had lost the best thing in his life was evident as he even pushed Jessica away when she offered to dance.

As the night drew to a close, Hannah embraced her mother, proud of how everything had turned out. “You deserve all the happiness in the world,” she said, smiling.

Her mother left the hall with Tom, happier than she had been in a long time. Hannah knew her father was now regretting his choices, but it was too late. Her plan to show him that her mom could find happiness without him had been a resounding success.

In the end, justice had been served, and Hannah couldn’t be more pleased.
